Globe Map - 3D Earth is a Travel-category Android app for viewing the planet as a 3D globe using satellite imagery and zoomable maps. It is relevant when you want to look at a region's terrain from a wider or closer position, or learn about a place's geography.

Viewing terrain and geography as a 3D globe

The app presents Earth as a 3D globe, which offers a different perspective from a flat map. Its satellite map is the main visual feature, and the listing says it lets users explore the world in 3D. The listing also connects this view to gaining knowledge about geography and topography, including learning about different terrains and discovering new places.

Moving between close-up and wide views

According to the listing, zoom works on both the 3D map and the standard map. This allows a broad view of a region or a closer look at a specific spot, including the user's current location. Being able to zoom in both modes lets you move between the globe and flat views of the same area.

Choosing a map type for your purpose

The app offers eight map types, including satellite and topographic maps. The listing describes these options as serving different user preferences and needs, so a traveler looking for a general overview and a user interested in landforms can each select the view that fits. The listing names only satellite and topographic types, so the other six are not described here.

Staying informed about changes

The listing states that the detailed satellite map provides real-time updates about changes and developments around the world. It does not explain which kinds of changes are covered, how often the imagery is refreshed, or what conditions apply, so these details should be checked before relying on them.

Scope of the listing

The listing uses promotional language and describes the app as ideal for travelers and explorers. The supported functions are the 3D globe presentation, satellite imagery, zoom on both map modes, eight map types, and the real-time updates as the listing describes them. The listed version is 2.4.4.
