About this app

Parlare Italiano is a puzzle game in which players rearrange words from classic poems and listen to the results recited in Italian. The central activity involves selecting and ordering words drawn from works by poets such as Shakespeare and Dante, then hearing the completed lines spoken aloud.

Core Play Loop

Players begin by viewing a selection of poem words presented out of order. They drag or tap the words into a new sequence that forms a recognizable poem line or stanza. Once the arrangement is submitted, the app plays a recording of the line spoken in Italian. Players can adjust the word order and replay the audio to compare different versions.

Audio Component

Every completed arrangement triggers playback of the poem text spoken by Paolo Rossini. The voice track remains the same for a given poem regardless of minor word-order variations, allowing repeated listening sessions that focus on pronunciation and rhythm. Players may return to any poem they have previously arranged to hear the recitation again without reordering words.

Exploration and Experimentation

The app presents multiple poems for rearrangement. After finishing one poem, players select another from the available collection. Experimenting with alternative word placements produces new spoken versions that still draw from the original text, encouraging repeated sessions with the same material. No scoring or time limits are attached to the rearrangement task.

Educational Focus

Each poem is accompanied by its original text for reference, helping players recognize correct structures while they experiment. The combination of visual rearrangement and spoken Italian supports familiarity with both vocabulary and poetic phrasing. Progress consists of unlocking additional poems through continued play rather than external rewards.
