About this app
Pocket ZONE puts survival and character development at the center of a post-nuclear RPG. Players explore a dangerous Zone, search for equipment and artifacts, and make choices in text-based encounters. These systems connect exploration to survival: what you find can support your character or shape their build, while hunger, injuries, and other needs make expeditions more demanding. With no single linear storyline described, the experience focuses instead on exploration, changing encounters, and progression through classes and skills.
Build a character for the Zone
Players can customize a hero using hundreds of visual body parts, then develop classes, skills, and abilities through an RPG progression system. The loot pool includes more than 100 types of weapons, armor, and gear, as well as artifacts that affect gameplay. Together, character development and scavenged equipment offer different ways to shape a build.
Explore and respond to encounters
The Zone’s detailed map includes ten locations with anomalies and hidden loot. Hundreds of random text events present choices whose outcomes depend on decisions and external conditions. Rather than following a fixed sequence of plot points, players encounter situations as they explore, giving their choices a role in how a run unfolds.
Manage survival and supplies
Survival requires attention to eating, drinking, resting, healing injuries, and managing illnesses. Scavenging provides items that can help with preparation, while risky expeditions offer opportunities to find more gear and artifacts. These needs make planning part of the game’s RPG progression, rather than leaving character development to skills and equipment alone.
Trade and consider the difficulty
Players can exchange and trade found items with other players and friends, which can help them pursue a particular build or fund an expedition. The game is described as having hardcore survival mechanics, so its demands may not suit people looking for a casual experience. Its lack of a direct linear plot may also be less appealing to players who prefer a guided narrative. Pocket ZONE is still under development, and bugs or unfinished systems may occur.
